This saturday, July 13th, from 6-8 PM, Eve Fowler and Morán Morán present a group exhibition featuring 20 artists who have maintained their artistic practice’s through time and space. Boasting a combination of as many mediums as it does artists, the show features art forms ranging from painting to textiles, ceramics, video, sculpture, and more. And if the title seems a bit ambiguous, you may be on to something, as curator Eve Fowler admits she chose it for that reason exactly: “I’m not asking the artists to tell me anything, but they allowed me in their studios – a private place where artists often feel vulnerable.” Rather than directing the audience toward a consistent conceptual theme, the ambiguity of the Gertrude Stein-inspired title reverts our attention toward the inspiration behind the collection: the process’ by which they were made. The featured artists also make up the second part to Fowler’s documentary film project, where she traces the practices of these artists dating as far back as the 1970’s to now.
