For the 2019 edition of Art Basel, the gallery co-presents an immersive, large-scale project by Jacolby Satterwhite in the Unlimited sector. Satterwhite’s installation, titled Birds in Paradise, is comprised of a four-part animated video on two channels, over an hour in length, scored to Love will find a way home, an album by PAT – a collaboration between Satterwhite and Nick Weiss. PAT takes its name from Patricia Satterwhite, the artist’s mother, who left behind hundreds of a capella recordings. In addition to the film, the installation includes a piece that documents the full list of song titles, executed in multi-colored neon tubing. All combined, Birds in Paradise discloses the three-year culmination of Satterwhite’s video anthology. Presented in partnership with Lundgren Gallery, Spain and Mitchell-Innes & Nash, New York.
