Art Basel

For the 2018 edition of Art Basel, the gallery presents a booth dedicated to new works by Jacolby Satterwhite.  Satterwhite creates an immersive installation – a room wallpapered in a prismatic, hypnotic, digital vision. The room incorporates a variety of elements, such as 3-D printed sculptures and ephemera housed in a custom entertainment unit, a VR piece, and video animation. His video animations fuse with music. The soundtrack is based on a capella melodies sung and recorded on cassette by his mother in the 90s that Satterwhite integrated with elements of electronic house, noise, and deconstructed club music, to create a full length album titled, Patricia.
